Somali.help was founded by Ahmed Saleban Abdi, a Somali ICT professional with experience supporting and testing large-scale digital platforms. He created the initiative to make trusted healthcare, emergency and other essential-service information easier for Somali communities to find.

The objective is to expand verified healthcare and emergency-service coverage, improve source transparency and corrections, and continue optimizing the directory for low-bandwidth access—subject to reliable evidence and responsible verification.
