How Somali.help handles your information

Somali.help is designed to work with limited personal data. This policy explains what may be processed when you browse, search, use location-aware help or contact us.

Information processed

Location use

Precise location is requested only after you choose a nearby-service feature and your browser asks permission. Coordinates are used for that search and are not intentionally stored in Somali.help's directory database. If location is denied, you can choose a city manually. Nearby map results may be supplied by an external mapping service under its own privacy terms.

Cookies and browser storage

Essential browser storage keeps language, theme and consent preferences. Advertising cookies are not currently used. If advertising is introduced, non-essential advertising technology will not be enabled where prior consent is required until the user has made a choice through an appropriate consent platform.

External services and APIs

Somali.help may obtain public information from official organizations, OpenStreetMap, weather services, scholarship sources, Vercel and Supabase. Opening an external link transfers you to that provider, which applies its own privacy policy. We do not scrape private accounts or ask visitors for service passwords.

Retention

Browser preferences remain until you clear them or change your choice. Server and security logs are retained according to the hosting provider's operational schedules. Emails are kept only as long as reasonably needed to resolve the request, maintain an audit trail or meet a legal obligation.

Advertising

Somali.help does not currently load Google AdSense advertising. If ads are added after approval, this policy and the consent controls will be updated before activation, and advertising will be clearly separated from directory content.
